Connect Drupal Commerce
A dedicated Drupal user whose only extra permission is viewing orders, read over JSON:API.
Before you start
- Drupal admin access with Drupal Commerce installed.
Steps · about 8 min
- Enable the core JSON:API module (read-only mode is fine) and HTTP Basic Authentication, or Simple OAuth.
- People → Roles → Add role “Trust the Store reader” with only View commerce_order and View commerce_store.
- Create a user with that role and a long random password.
- Paste the site URL and that username + password, or an OAuth bearer token. Custom order types: fill the bundle field.

Troubleshooting
The platform rejected the credentials (HTTP 403).
The role is missing View commerce_order, or JSON:API isn't enabled for orders.

The store must be publicly reachable over HTTPS. Check the URL, and that no firewall or maintenance mode blocks API requests.
